The official PNG Home-page
The official PNG Home-page is THE source for all information related to PNG. It holds the current specification and many links to other PNG related sites. It's maintained by Greg Roelofs, one of the original authors of the PNG specification and member of the PNG-group. Note that libmng.com currently mirrors this site. Naturally I try to keep it up with the latest changes but I can't hope to be as fast as Greg :-)

The official MNG Home-page
The official MNG Home-page is slightly (;-) related to the PNG Home-page, but seems to focus a bit more on MNG. It's maintainer is none other than Greg himself. The MNG Home-page is also mirrored on libmng.com. The official MNG specification can be found here too.

The official ZLIB Home-page
The official ZLIB Home-page is the source of information for the freely available ZLIB library. This library contains the funcionality to compress and decompress a random stream of bytes. It is used by libmng to decompress and compress the pixel-information in the PNG and MNG images. And oh, it's maintained by Greg (isn't he the busy bee...)

The Independant JPEG Group
The Independant JPEG Group is another body of fine individuals that have written and are maintaining a freely available JPEG library. libmng can link with the library to support the JNG part of the MNG specification.

"lcms\" or little CMS
Little CMS is a library written and maintained by Marti Maria Saguer. It can be linked with libmng to provide full color-correction. Marti has done a great job in supporting most ICC profiles, and I can only say that I personally appreciate his efforts and the fact that he distributes the library free of charge under the LGPL (Library GNU Public License).

File-Insider
This is a very nice (and free!) Internet utility to check the insides of a PNG, JNG and/or MNG file quickly and easily using just your Browser. You can check files from your local file-system or web-based (http:) files.
